Dues amounts are set in the Member Types window, which
is accessed via the General tab of the Options menu item. In this
window, you also set the building fund amounts and the chevra
amounts for up to 9 different member types that you define. In
addition, you use the Pro-Rate button for each member
type to set any pro-rated dues amounts that you desire. Pro-rated
amounts are dues amounts that are charged a new member for the
first year they sign up if they sign up at various times during the
year, rather than for the full year. For example, if a member signs
up in July and your fiscal year begins January 1, you might want to
charge just half the regular yearly dues amount for that member
type.
You also use this window to set the billing periods for each member
type and the minimum amount of dues that must be paid at each
billing period. For example, you can have quarterly billing and
perhaps require ¼ of dues at end of the first quarter, ½ dues at
end of 2nd quarter and ¾ dues at end of 3rd
quarter.
Other miscellaneous fees items are set in the Miscellaneous
Fees window, which is accessed via the
Financial tab of the Options menu item. It allows
you to enter various required payment amounts and the that you
fiscal year begins. You can also create IRS Tax substantiation
statements via the IRS menu item.
The information specified in the Miscellaneous Fees window is:
Sisterhood Fees
Many institutions have sisterhood organizations for women
to allow them to provide special fund-raising events for the
institution and also as a chance for the women to meet in their own
organizational environment . The system provides three categories
of Sisterhood membership: Associate, Full, and
Life, allowing each to have different fees. Associate
membership provides some, but not all, of the benefits of Full
membership and is a less-costly alternative to Full membership.
Life membership allows a member to pay one lump sum amount,
generally larger than the Full membership fee, and entitles the
member to be a full member of the sisterhood for as long as the
member is a member in good standing of the institution. This Life
membership fee might be paid over an extended period of time, which
could be longer than one fiscal year.
